Rapid screening test for premature rupture of membranes
TODA AMNIODIAG 5 cassette® is a cassette-based immunochromatographic test that detects fetal rupture of membranes (PROM) by identifying the IGFBP-1 protein in the amniotic fluid of the pregnant woman. The test uses a pair of monoclonal antibodies that detect the protein from a vaginal swab.
Detecting IGFBP-1 in vaginal samples allows for the reliable diagnosis of PROM, thus avoiding unnecessary hospitalization and costs. Furthermore, in cases of PROM, the fetus is exposed to significant infectious risks, particularly from Group B Streptococcus, which can cause infant death*.
