Product overview
CareVix is a cervical device developed to gently stabilise the cervix. It combines vacuum technology with a soft anatomical pad.
Conventional cervical stabilisation
A tenaculum is a surgical instrument used in gynaecology. It resembles scissors ending in sharp hooks and is designed to grasp and stabilise the cervix. Its design has remained largely unchanged for more than a century.
Grasping the cervix by piercing the tissue can cause pain and bleeding. Direct contact with sensitive tissues may cause trauma and discomfort during the procedure, particularly for sensitive or anxious patients.
Patient reflex movements or responses to pain can affect stabilisation and make the procedure more difficult for the clinician. The sharp-ended design also requires care to avoid unintended tissue injury.
Vacuum technology and anatomical pad
CareVix was developed as an alternative approach to cervical stabilisation. Its vacuum technology and soft anatomical pad are designed to stabilise the cervix gently, with the aim of reducing procedure-related pain, bleeding and tissue trauma compared with traditional methods.
The design aims to improve comfort for patients and clinicians, supporting controlled stabilisation and reducing the difficulties associated with reflex movements and pain responses.
